Goggins Transport opts for Mercedes-Benz Actros ProCabin tractors

Goggins Transport, the UK and Ireland-based general haulage business, has enhanced its fleet with the addition of 11 new, high-specification Mercedes-Benz Actros ProCabin Big 510hp tractor units, with a further five Actros ProCabin Giga units on order to be delivered this year. The vehicles, which are being supplied by dealership group eStar Truck and Van, are said to form a key part of Goggins’ driver retention strategy.

Founded by Martin Goggins in 1979, Goggins Transport has grown from a one-person operation into a major haulage provider, with operational bases in Liverpool, Dublin and Wexford. Today, Martin’s son, Tony, leads the company and oversees the UK operations.

“Our father started this business by purchasing his first Mercedes-Benz truck as a driver-owner in Galway,” said Tony Goggins, managing director.

This latest fleet enhancement, which continues the generational history of Goggins with Mercedes-Benz Trucks, builds upon an established partnership between Goggins Transport and eStar Truck and Van.

Cited benefits of the Actros ProCabin Big cab variant include a spacious and driver-focused cab interior, designed with ergonomics that make long-haul journeys safer and more comfortable. Thanks to its flat floor, the Big offers generous standing height too, says Mercedes-Benz, combined with ample storage compartments, a wide sleeping bunk, and well-appointed controls.
