The Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) is offering free Driver CPC-accredited ‘Staying Legal’ courses to its member operators on a number of dates in early 2016, while places last.

Those attending will only need to pay the DVSA upload fee of £8.75 if they wish the course to count towards their DCPC training hours.

The course covers a range of key areas including operator licensing requirements; the industry’s regulatory framework; the enforcement agencies, targeting methods and common offences; the consequences of non-compliance; and industry initiatives to reduce road risk.

“The Staying Legal course is designed to inform all HGV drivers of the requirements to remain compliant, when driving an HGV commercially on public roads,” said FORS.

“The learning aims are to raise the overall HGV compliance standards, along with the protection of the actual operator’s licence. Staying Legal is fully DCPC accredited and amounts to a seven-hour DCPC training module, towards a driver’s graduated total.”

FORS operators can book places by visiting the Staying Legal website. Further courses will be made available after April.
