Earned Recognition added to VDO TIS-Web
Continental Automotive has announced that its VDO TIS-Web system will see the addition of DVSA Earned Recognition functionality for drivers’ hours data from January 2021.
The system will integrate key performance indicator (KPI) data based on the DVSA’s Earned Recognition scheme, defined algorithm via electronic triggers from the TIS-Web DMM 5.0 data management module. Data can be supplied in PDF format which can be emailed direct to the DVSA automatically.
The data management module TIS-Web DMM 5.0 from VDO evaluates tachograph data and provides information about the entire fleet. This includes the availability of drivers and vehicles, driving and rest times, violations, plus important statistics on driving behavior or speeds.
This allows drivers to be trained better and driving styles changed, says Continental. The system can also issue reminders of appointments such as driver’s licence checks or upcoming maintenance appointments.
“With TIS-Web DMM 5.0, fleet managers not only meet the legal requirements for data archiving, they can also optimise processes in a targeted manner and support drivers – a huge plus for everyone,” said the company.
Continental also highlighted a range of further benefits of its TIS-Web system.
“In order for fleets to run smoothly, fleet managers have to deal with a large number of tasks at the same time,” the firm said.
“To put it more precisely: suppliers want one thing, customers want another. In between are the needs of drivers, health and safety executives, keeping costs at a minimum and following transport legislation. Software solutions deliver usable data about the fleet and thereby help to optimise processes, says Continental.

“With the practical counter function the driver also always has an overview of his own driving and rest times – ideal for planning breaks.”
