Transmission supplier Powertrain has been awarded the Gold Standard for service by Allison Transmission, following its appointment as Allison’s direct dealer in the UK.

“In 2018 Allison Transmission decided to grow its service partner network in the UK, with the singular purpose of increasing customer engagement and providing a more convenient access to genuine Allison Transmission parts and the all important aspect of increasing Allison Transmission service support nationwide,” said Powertrain.

“In the two years since… Powertrain have worked tirelessly to improve the standard of customer support for all Allison Transmission customers. In recognition of this dedicated effort and outstanding achievement, Allison Transmission awarded Powertrain the Gold Standard for service. In fact, Powertrain are the only UK Allison channel partner to be awarded such standard in 2020.”

Established in 1973, Powertrain is still a family-owned business and has been supporting both the road haulage and PSV industries since its inception. As Allison Transmission’s direct dealer, it is authorised to carry out warranty diagnostics, repairs and programming.

All of Powertrain’s engineers regularly spend time at Allison Transmission’s training school at its European Headquarters in Sliedrecht (Netherlands), says the firm, and also make good use of e-learning so as to ensure they remain abreast of the latest developments.

“Powertrain’s company ethos has always been one of continual investment in both staff and equipment; no expense is spared on the computer controlled test facilities which ensure that every transmission is fully tested and certified prior to dispatch,” said the company.

“In addition, all service engineers carry whatever specialised tooling and parts they need to both diagnose faults and carry out any required repairs.

“Supporting its national service centre which is located in central England are Powertrain’s team of field service engineers, who are strategically located throughout the UK, thus ensuring Allison Transmission Service Support is never too far away.”

In addition, Powertrain’s Remove & Refit service offers a benefit to many of its customers who are looking to keep their downtime and costs to a minimum, says the firm.

“Powertrain’s fully qualified, factory trained service engineers will either repair or replace your transmission on your own premises or at Powertrain’s national service centre,” it said.

“As part of this service, Powertrain go the extra mile and carry out health checks, adaption programming and the very specialised Allison Transmission Driveline analysis, which allows identification of any potential issues thus ensuring the longevity of their customers’ transmissions.

Powertrain also highlights its national service centre’s extensive stores facility, which stocks thousands of genuine Allison parts, lubricants and over 250 genuine Allison ReTran transmissions.

“Customers are able to call in to the parts department or take advantage of the next day delivery service,” it said.

“Powertrain’s experienced sales and service team are on hand to assist customers, both old and new, with all enquiries.”
