AC servicing expertise from Bosch
Bosch has outlined the features and advantages of its vehicle air conditioning service (ACS) range.
According to Bosch, the market potential for intelligent air conditioning service is constantly increasing and growing in importance, especially for hybrid and electric vehicles.
“With its new ACS range, Bosch makes the maintenance operations of the AC R134a and R1234yf systems easier and more efficient. In addition, our units offer a R456a refrigerant compatibility as an alternative to R134a,” said the company.
Several units are available. The ACS 563 / ACS 553 units offer basic AC servicing, while ACS 663 / ACS 653 are described as the standard units, said to offer highly efficient operation.
“Deep recovery function with up to 99 per cent recovery rate ensures higher performance and time savings,” said Bosch of the ACS 663 / ACS 653.
“The powerful vacuum pump provides for a fast service also for larger systems and the integrated leak detection test with UV dye helps to find leakages quickly. Thanks to the intelligent oil management for PAG/POE oil, the workshop is prepared for the future without the need for manual bottle changes.”
The premium ACS 753 model is said to offer a better overview and usability thanks to a large swivelling display. “Thanks to the integrated leak detection with N2/N2H2 kit, leakages can be located more accurately and faster,” said Bosch. “The sealed UV/oil bottles avoid air in the bottles, so no moisture can enter the system.”
Meanwhile the ACS 863 offers an integrated refrigerant identifier, which checks the purity of the refrigerant R1234yf according to SAE and OE specifications.
The AC service units can be used for HCV applications if the size of the AC system is like those in cars. Very large systems require ACS 810.
“The ACS 810 is an air conditioning service unit specifically designed for buses and trucks with R134a refrigerant system,” said Bosch.
“The unit automatically monitors and checks refrigerant recovery, recycling and refilling.
“A powerful liquid pump facilitates the charge of large quantities of refrigerant. The double fan assures excellent temperature control and constant refrigerant pressure during the recovery phase, whilst preventing the overheating of internal components.”
Bosch also offers diagnostic software and devices to assist in AC servicing, as well as a range of spare parts, accessories and cabin filters.
