Labcraft cuts fitment time with plug and play solution
Labcraft, which provides LED lighting solutions for commercial vehicles, has introduced a new plug-and-play wiring harness kit which is said to reduce installation time by up to 50 per cent.
Cardiff-based Owlvue, a specialist installer that provides mobile services to fleets across the UK, has successfully integrated this new solution, Labcraft reports, saving up to two hours per installation for their fleet customers.
Labcraft R23 Banksman lighting, which is said to enhance vehicle safety and manoeuvrability, is now easier than ever to install, says the company, adding that the new preassembled wiring harness kits help streamline the installation process, ensure long-term reliability and reduce vehicle downtime.
“It is a huge benefit having the looms premade, as this can save up to 50 per cent of install time on site when prepping the kit – which can also be tricky depending on site conditions,” said James Fisher, technical manager at Owlvue.
The new wiring system is designed to be efficient in all environments, adds Labcraft, offering protection against moisture, heat, and vibration, while its simple configuration makes parts replacement and upgrades easier and more straightforward.
“With our ready-made and pre-wired electrical harness kits, fitting a Banksman system is simplicity itself,” said Matt Stubbs, sales manager at Labcraft.
“Our design team has worked closely with operators and technicians across multiple sectors to create the optimal solution for a faster installation, while improving reliability and lowering maintenance costs.”
Banksman plug-and-play harnesses fit most rigids and trailers up to 13.6 metres. The wiring kits are said to help reduce labour time, minimise fitting errors, and streamline electrical connections, making them perfect for a wide range of commercial vehicle fitting outfits: vehicle and trailer manufacturers, body builders, and aftermarket installers.
“The quality of the looms supplied was very good and will maintain consistency across all installs,” added James Fisher.
“This will also enable any service work to be completed more efficiently, providing a simple like-for-like, plug-in solution.”
The new harnesses are suitable for all Banksman lighting solutions from Labcraft. These come in four models – BM2, BM3, BM4, and BM6 to fit most vehicles. Banksman provides additional lighting around vehicles, aiding drivers in both open and confined spaces.
Labcraft lights are tailored for interior and exterior applications in vans, trucks, and trailers, in industries such as general haulage, temperature-controlled transport, emergency services, waste management, and road maintenance.
All products are manufactured at Labcraft’s ISO9001/14001 certified facility in Saffron Walden, Essex, following environmentally responsible processes.
