Lumileds expands Philips CV lighting range
Lumileds – the name behind the Philips Automotive Lighting product ranges – has unveiled the new Ultinon Pro 7000 SI LED signalling lights range.
“As ever, safety is the driving force behind Philips Automotive Lighting products, but there are also, of course, the vital considerations of minimising downtime, and making servicing and replacement as easy as possible,” said Lumileds.
“Ultinon Pro 7000 Sl offers best-in-class brightness for elegant style, and the best visibility, as well as ‘Instant-on’ for safer signalling during stopping and turning applications – and these signal lights have actual red and orange LEDs, unlike many competitors, who merely use coloured casing.
“The range offers a simple ‘plug and play’ solution throughout, with the same standard IEC caps as conventional bulbs, all of which – with the exception of the Festoon – are polarity-free, which means they offer an exceptionally easy upgrade from conventional bulb to LED.”
The new range offers a longer lifetime of up to 5,000 hours, says the company, while the use of an aluminum heatsink on the P type, T20, and W16W helps maximise the LED’s performance. The T10 is also designed with ‘HeatShield’ technology – for operating temperatures of up to 120°.
The Ultinon Pro 7000 Sl range comes with up to three years’ warranty (two years standard with a further year extension possible: philips.com/auto-warranty for more information).
There are 17 different 24V options in the Ultinon Pro 7000 Sl range, says the firm, with an optional CANbus available to help troubleshooting, which means there should be a product compatible with most major vehicle models.
Meanwhile, the Philips Halogen 24V Commercial Vehicle headlight bulb range offers three options.
“Philips MasterLife headlight bulbs are the ultimate Original Equipment quality truck lighting solution, with maximum performance and minimum downtime,” said Lumileds.
“MasterLife offers up to 1,200 hours… This is possible through the use of a robust double coil filament, a unique gas combination and quartz glass.
“MasterDuty bulbs were upgraded in the recent past to offer further enhanced vibration resistance. This makes these lights suitable for trucks whose work requires ultimate protection against mechanical shock.
“MasterDuty is the right choice for drivers and operators who are looking for toughness that lasts, as they are designed with ultimate protection against mechanical shock in mind – as well as a robust double coil filament that is manufactured to remain stable yet withstand severe vibration.”
Individuality is often a factor in deciding purchases for a vehicle with owner-operators, says Lumileds.
“Philips MasterDuty BlueVision combines the durability and vibration resistance of MasterDuty with an additional blue Xenon effect for maximum style.”
Further products in the range include two Philips MasterDuty spare bulb kits to meet operators’ lighting solution needs while on the road.
The range also features a Philips Headlamp Restoration kit, specially designed for truck lighting.
“The restoration process takes only about half an hour and cleans both headlights to a professional looking finish – removing haze and yellowing caused by the effects of the sun and of exposure to dirt, and offering two years of UV protection,” said the company.
