Eminox launches replacement DPF range for LCV
Commercial vehicle emissions specialist Eminox has announced the launch of its first range of direct fit replacement diesel particulate filters (DPFs) for the light commercial market.
The range is said to cover more than 70 per cent of light commercial vehicles that were factory fitted with a DPF which are regulated by Euro 4 emissions standards. Vehicles covered include the popular Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, as well as vans manufactured by Citroën, Fiat, Nissan, Peugeot, Vauxhall and Volkswagen.
All Eminox DPFs for light commercial vehicles are manufactured to TS 19649 and fully comply with UNECE Regulation 103, the European standard concerning the approval of replacement pollution control devices.
Eminox, which has been manufacturing DPF systems for OEM and retrofit applications since 1995, says the new range will offer a cost-effective but high-quality alternative to OEM replacement DPFs.
“The DPFs are manufactured using silicon carbide substrates which can withstand high temperature regeneration, offering longer life than the industry standard cordierite filters,” said the company.
“The filters are housed in stainless steel for durability and a high quality mat ensures the substrate is fixed in position correctly. DPFs are individually packed in boxes for storage and to prevent any damage during transportation.”
The range is said to have been designed with the workshop customer in mind, with each part supplied with all fitting components required, thereby avoiding the need to reuse worn components or having to order them separately. Customers will have access to an Eminox emissions specialist through the branch network, while all DPFs come with an unlimited-mileage, two-year warranty from the fitment date.
“Making Eminox emissions products available to the European aftermarket is a logical progression for us because it leverages our expertise in supplying both commercial vehicle manufacturers and retrofit markets”, said Neil Koston at Eminox.
“All of this comes with the technical expertise, quality and durability you would expect from the Eminox brand.”
The company is supporting the launch with a special introductory offer on bulk orders of 50 DPFs, including 90-day payment terms on the first stock pack purchased. Distributors that take advantage of this offer will also be entered into a prize draw for a pair of tickets to the 2016 British Grand Prix.
“This is a premium quality range that offers a substantial saving against a replacement DPF from the original vehicle manufacturer”, said Neil Koston.
“That means it represents excellent value for workshop operators and a great business opportunity for parts distributors looking to push ahead in this sector. We are committed to developing our range, and throughout 2016 we will be launching DPFs for Euro 5 vehicles too.”
The company stressed that not all DPFs are the same. “The aftermarket is a business area that was traditionally built on cost effectiveness, but that isn’t just about the lowest price,” added Neil Koston.
Through its branches in the UK, France, Germany and Sweden, Eminox says it can supply the aftermarket with DPFs on a same-day or next-day basis across Europe.
