Sailun puts Transport Pro tyres in the spotlight

Tyre manufacturer Sailun has outlined the features and benefits of its Transport Pro truck tyre range, incorporating EcoPoint3 technology.

“Developed through Sailun’s advanced liquid-phase mixing process, EcoPoint3 reflects the company’s wider Smart Performance philosophy, combining advanced technology, safety and value in a way that supports the real-world needs of modern fleets,” Sailun explained.

“Through a more advanced compound-development process, EcoPoint3 is designed to optimise the interaction between key material elements more effectively than conventional mixing methods, helping to reduce rolling resistance without sacrificing wet braking, wear resistance or long-term durability.

“In practical fleet terms, that means a tyre engineered to cut operating cost while supporting safety, mileage, and sustainability in equal measure.

“Sailun’s EcoPoint3 compound also delivers rolling resistance reductions of up to 20 per cent for better fuel economy, EU Grade A–B wet braking performance, 10 per cent improved tread life in application versus standard tyres, and a more sustainable production profile built around 31.8 per cent sustainable materials and low-CO2 manufacturing.”

This technology sits at the heart of Sailun’s second-generation Transport Pro range. Developed for highway and national operations, Transport Pro S and Transport Pro D have been designed to bring advanced compound development into a modern commercial tyre package that speaks directly to the priorities of today’s fleets, says the manufacturer.

“Until now, operators have had to decide which aspect of tyre performance matters most for their vehicles and business, typically meaning one of the three key pillars of efficiency, performance and durability had to be compromised.

“With Sailun’s Transport Pro Series and EcoPoint3 technology, that trade-off is no longer necessary, giving fleets a more balanced and technically advanced solution across all three areas.

“For steer axle applications, Transport Pro S has been engineered to deliver a strong all-round balance of efficiency, mileage, control, and wet-weather confidence. Across the listed sizes, the range carries an EU label rating of B for rolling resistance, A for wet grip and 70 dB with noise class A, reinforcing its balanced performance profile for national and long-haul work.

“Its design combines innovative bionic tree leaf sipes and groove-edge notches to strengthen wet grip, three main grooves and a higher tread block-to-groove ratio to reduce rolling resistance, and a wider contact patch to improve handling stability and wear performance.

“That second-generation progress is supported by measurable gains over Sailun’s previous generation SFR1. Testing shows that Transport Pro S delivers 10.7 per cent better rolling resistance, 19 per cent better wet handling, 13 per cent better durability, and 17 per cent better noise performance.”

On the drive axle side, says Sailun, Transport Pro D has been developed with the same second-generation philosophy, but with a stronger emphasis on rolling resistance, wet grip, and low noise for improved driving comfort.

“It carries an EU label rating of B-C for rolling resistance depending on size, A for wet grip and 72 dB with noise class A across listed sizes. Its design uses open shoulders and lateral groove geometry together with 3D full-depth sipes to support traction and wet grip, while a greater block-to-groove ratio and wider footprint help reduce rolling resistance and improve energy efficiency. Optimised tread block dimensions and a variable pitch design further support wear stability and lower rolling noise.

“Compared with the previous generation Sailun SDL1, testing shows that Transport Pro D delivers 20.8 per cent better rolling resistance, 20 per cent better wet handling and 17 per cent better noise performance, while maintaining traction and wear performance.”
