Revis Transport adopts Centrad AI-powered CCTV and telematics

Yorkshire-based logistics specialist Revis Transport has adopted vehicle CCTV AI technology to bolster safety for both vulnerable road users and its drivers, while also mitigating the risks associated with insurance claims.

Established in 1947 with one truck moving livestock, Revis Transport is now in the third generation of family ownership and has grown into a 60-truck fleet operation.

As the business grew over the decades, so did the necessity for advanced onboard safety systems that provide protection and deliver tangible evidence in the event of incidents, particularly to defend against unjust claims during a time where insurance premiums remain costly.

To address this, Revis was recommended to commercial vehicle CCTV and video telematics provider Centrad, which was already in the process of developing camera integration with their existing fleet management platform.

The adoption of Centrad’s solution includes a dual-camera system, featuring forward-facing and nearside cameras equipped with PSS blind-spot detection and advanced AI capabilities. These systems have been retrofitted across its 60-strong fleet.

This was initially done to comply with the DVS changes introduced in 2024 but has reportedly since proven invaluable in not just enhancing driver awareness but also in reducing collision risks, while also providing high-quality video evidence to support the investigation of incidents in the event one occurs.

The AI-driven camera system actively detects potential hazards within close vicinity of the vehicle, such as pedestrians and cyclists in blind spots, and will alert drivers in real time when a collision risk is identified, providing a proactive solution to reducing incidents while out on the road.

Neil Hutchinson, commercial director at Revis Transport, said: “Safety has always been at the heart of our business. By working closely with Centrad, we’ve not only met the regulatory requirements introduced under DVS, allowing us to move freely in and out of Greater London without the threat of fines, but we’ve also taken a big step forward in protecting our team and keeping insurance costs under control.

“The peace of mind that comes from knowing we have clear, indisputable evidence in the event of an incident is invaluable as it allows us to resolve claims quickly and avoid incurring any unnecessary hidden costs. Having that safety blanket in place isn’t a luxury anymore and it’s become indispensable for us as a haulage company”

Revis has also adopted Centrad’s video telematics and fleet management platform, CenHub, in recent months in order to provide further visibility across its fleet and drivers.

The system allows fleet managers to access real-time video footage, driver behaviour analytics, and vehicle health reports from a single dashboard. By integrating CenHub with AI-enabled camera systems, Revis can monitor near-misses, identify trends in driver performance, and implement targeted training where needed.

The platform also allows for streamlined incident reporting, meaning the business is able to readily access accurate, time-stamped video evidence that can be downloaded and shared with insurers to resolve claims both quickly and fairly.

Neil added: “CenHub has given us a level of visibility and control that we simply didn’t have before.

“With the business now operating 60 vehicles, we have at our fingertips real-time insights into every single asset within our fleet 24/7, enabling us to monitor performance across each vehicle, address issues proactively, and better support our drivers more effectively in allowing them to perform their roles with total confidence.

“Since the installation, we’ve already seen a noticeable reduction in incidents and associated claim costs, and we expect this trend to continue over the next 12 months as we further embed the technology into our operations. Centrad’s willingness to integrate seamlessly with third-party systems, combined with the excellent value of the solution provided, has made them an ideal long-term partner for the business.”
