Dun-Bri adds value with Viper LED lightbars

As commercial vehicle fleets evolve, says lighting specialist Dun-Bri, warning lighting needs to do more than simply provide a bright amber signal.

“Operators increasingly have to consider regulatory compliance, vehicle compatibility, reliability and the practicalities of maintaining equipment throughout its working life,” said the company.

“The DBG Viper Series Amber LED Lightbar has been developed around these requirements, combining high-performance warning output with a slim, low-profile design for professional commercial vehicle applications.

“The Viper carries ECE R65 Class 2 approval, alongside ECE R10 approval. Its Class 2 specification provides both day and night operating modes, with an integrated light sensor automatically switching between the two according to ambient light conditions. This ensures the appropriate warning output is selected without requiring manual intervention from the driver.

“Vehicle electrical systems are changing too. Fleets can now encompass traditional 12V and 24V vehicles alongside newer electric platforms. With an 11–50V DC operating range, the Viper is designed for compatibility across 12V, 24V and modern EV applications, giving operators and installers flexibility when specifying equipment across a varied fleet.”

The Viper uses replaceable LED modules, the firm adds, designed to help minimise downtime and maintenance costs rather than treating the complete lightbar as a single unit.

“The lightbar also incorporates traffic advisor modes, providing additional functionality for roadside and working vehicle applications. Its low-profile aerodynamic housing is designed to reduce wind resistance and noise, while IP67 protection contributes to its suitability for demanding commercial environments.

“The 30-inch Viper, for example, measures 766mm long and just 81mm high, making it particularly suited to smaller commercial vehicles, utility vehicles and recovery vehicles where available roof space may be limited but 360-degree warning visibility remains important.”
