Autolift aids inspection with jacking range

Workshop equipment provider Autolift supplies a range of solutions to assist with the inspection of commercial vehicles. It includes a wide selection of pit jacks, including the 13T or 20T capacity air-powered hydraulic pit jack with security struts, with a lifting stroke of 400mm.

A purpose designed high output air pump provides the power to two lifting cylinders. To improve safe working, hydraulic locking is provided by 90 degrees isolation valves, which are locked when the desired lifting height is reached. They also provide easy visual confirmation that the jack is locked off and allows each cylinder to be operated independently.

Operation is simple, says Autolift; the air valve lever is raised to quickly advance the lifting cylinders to the load, then the air pump automatically takes over to lift the load. When the desired height is reached, the user should close the cylinder isolation valves. To lower the load, the isolation valves should be opened and the ‘dead man’ valve on the pump released. When the load is off the cylinders, the user need simply hold down the air valve lever to quickly retract the cylinders.

The security strut system on this jack provides an extra layer of security for the operator, says the firm, especially in the case of accidental lowering.

The jack covers pit widths from 750 – 1,500mm, and comes with two 125mm extensions, two vee head adapters and two dish head pansies.

“The beam moves on four wheels, which have needle roller bearings to ensure ease of movement up and down the length of the pit,” said Autolift.

“Parallel wheels are fitted as standard to suit flat angle pit edges with tapered wheels as an alternative for use on RSJ supporting rails. Spring loaded wheels can also be provided; these retract when the jack is under load so locking its position…”

“A high output air pump complete with delivery valve, pre-set overpressure valve and ‘dead man’ release valve produces the high output flow to the cylinders.

“The design offers air over oil hydraulic power for advance and retract of the cylinders. Control is by a single air valve. Up for advance and power lift and down for retract.”

Highlighted benefits include chrome plated rods and the latest seal technology to ensure a long and trouble-free life. The product complies with EC requirements and is covered by a five-year warranty. Each unit is fully tested, marked with serial number and supplied with a test certificate.

Further products in the pit jack range include 15T/20T air-powered single ram pit jacks with 400mm or 750mm stroke.

Autolift also supplies 15T /20T air-powered floor jacks, for use either on a pit floor instead of a conventional jacking beam running along edge rails, or on the garage floor under a vehicle lifted by column lifts.

It features a lifting stroke of 750mm, minimum height of 1,200mm and maximum height of 2,000mm.

The lifting cylinder is mounted in an 800 mm square sprung base and is easily moved on four castors. On loads above 600 kg the castors retract and the unit sits solidly on the floor. A purpose-designed high output air pump provides the power to the lifting cylinder.

A 1.5-tonne transmission jack is also available, designed for use in pits or under four-post lifts, for removing and installing engines, gearboxes etc. A foot pedal-operated hydraulic pump allows an easy effortless lift and hands-free operation, says Autolift, while precision-engineered valves allow controlled lowering. High quality castor wheels and side handles allow the units to be easily moved.

The transmission jack comes with two ratchet straps to secure the gearbox in place when lowering or moving. The top square plate is a universal design with moveable quadrants and the slots allow modifications to be made by the user to accommodate different gearboxes.
