Fastview360 ensures safe return of stolen trucks
A customer of Fastview360 has successfully recovered two stolen vehicles, after the onboard camera technology provider stepped in to assist using hidden tracking technology.
Live viewing, live tracking, HD recording cameras, and an event button all help to deter thieves, says the company, but on the occasions they are successful, systems give fleet owners the ability to locate the stolen vehicles quickly.
“When contacted to see if our dedicated support team could help to locate two stolen HGVs, we were more than happy to oblige,” said Fastview360.
“Thieves entered the customer’s yard and broke into the vehicles, before stealing them and driving to a layby to check them over for any tracking or recording devices.
“The HGVs were fitted with a five-camera system covering nearside, front, offside, rear and the internal view of the cab as well as an in-cab monitor, tracking and event button.”
The firm explained: “In attempts to figure out the cab contents, the thief pressed the camera system’s event button, which notified the office immediately of an incident and automatically uploaded the footage of the incident in 1080P HD footage.
“The office could then use the hidden tracking system in the vehicles to locate the vehicles on our easy-to-use online platform, AutoCMS.”
Even though the DVR was ripped out, the thieves could not find the backup 4G live tracking system which was left in place. Fastview360’s support team switched on the backup tracker, which was vital in locating the vehicles and returning them to their owners.
“The AutoCMS platform automatically creates an incident in the customer portal,” added the company.
“All of the footage is uploaded to the customer’s portal automatically, and any additional footage, descriptions and information can be added in and a claim can be with your insurer within an hour.”
