Tachosys upgrades remote download device

Tachosys has announced the release of the digiDL-H, the most significant development so far to its remote tachograph download solution, for the first quarter of 2023.

The digiDL, which has been widely deployed for remote download over the last decade, is the foundation for the improved replacement.

The digiDL-H is said to provide a more efficient and reliable connection over Wi-Fi, 4G and Bluetooth, 20x faster processing and improved data encryption – alongside a more fundamental change, as Tachosys marketing manager Joe Stevens explains.

“The ‘H’ (of digiDL-H) stands for ‘hub’ which is what we’ve created; a device that continues to completely automate driver card and vehicle unit download, while also generating its own secure local network to collect data from additional devices and sensors around the vehicle,” he said.

The company is planning various future add-ons including Bluetooth tags, RFID readers, in-cab displays, cameras and wireless buttons as well as third-party hardware. These will gradually be released over the next few years, but DL-H devices purchased next year will be compatible with these future technologies.

Tachosys will also be releasing the digiDL-HX in 2023, which adds GPS tracking and configurable FMS data capture as standard, giving users access to enhanced telematics data.
