Trakm8 tackles driver behaviour with active feedback

Telematics provider Trakm8 has outlined the features of its combined driver identification and feedback solution, the ACC750.

Effective, actionable feedback is one of the most valuable tools for continued driver training, says the company; from idling to harsh braking, monitoring these behaviours is the first step to reducing these indicators of a potentially hazardous or inefficient driving style. Such data can also help fleet managers to best optimise their vehicles, by giving a better understanding of how a vehicle is used.

“The ACC750 gives HGV fleet managers access to a wide array of easy-to-interpret data sets that allows operators to identify and track trends, group issues and overall driver performance,” said Trakm8.

“The device uses Bluetooth Driver ID to log mileage and present driver feedback through an auto-diming display in-cab.

Using the ACC750 can significantly improve driver behaviour, by providing live driver updates that notify users of inefficient or heavy-footed braking, idling, and revving. By also rewarding driver habits, the system allows fleets to proactively improve safety and efficiency while working.

“Driver ID options with the ACC750 allow drivers to keep their driving score and activity when they switch vehicles. This key feature empowers drivers to make improvements and encourages users to engage in friendly competition with colleagues. This system engages drivers and allows them to measure their performance and gauge improvements to better control their performance and skill development.

“Another key benefit of using the ACC750 is fuel use reduction, as heavy-footed behaviour and idling are often the culprit. By adapting driver behaviour fleet managers can actively reduce fuel inefficient habits, reducing fleet costs simply and without large time investment.”

Accessing the data provided by the ACC750 is easy, says Trakm8, with drivers and fleet managers able to access a host of data-rich insights via and easy-to-use web portal and smartphone app.

“The ACC750 is compatible with a range of other Tramk8 devices, including the RH600 integrated telematics camera and Connect 500,” added the company.

“This gives fleets with further resources to collect and access useful data to drive performance and safety. Trakm8’s RH600 camera provides live streaming and multi-lens options to ensure safety and maximise the information available to fleet managers.”
