PVC Vendo has been providing a commercial vehicle washing service for 42 years, and covers most parts of the United Kingdom, catering to a diverse clientele ranging from small businesses with five or more small vans to large corporations like FedEx, DHL, G4S, BOC, and Royal Mail who run extensive fleets of vehicles.

“To make it convenient for our larger customers, we provide centralised invoicing which saves administrative time for our clients’ depots located across the country,” said the company.

“We are also Safe Contractor Accredited for the peace of mind of our clients.

Our team members utilise a high-pressure water system installed in their vans to wash customers’ vehicles at their yards or depots. We provide washing services at a time that suits the client, which includes evenings and weekends. The washing process involves three to four steps depending on the vehicle’s dirtiness and the last time it was washed.

“Initially, we dampen the sides of the vehicle, then apply a traffic film remover solution to lift grit from the surface of the vehicle. If the vehicle is excessively dirty or has not been washed for a while, we manually clean it using a telescopic broom to remove dirt. Finally, we use the high-pressure water system to eliminate all the dirt, leaving the vehicle clean and prepared to hit the road again.”

If the client has a dedicated washing area, the wastewater is drained into the allocated foul drains during the washing process, explains the company.

“To prevent drain blockage, we insert a removable drain before starting the wash to capture any debris from the vehicle,” it continued.

“However, if there is no dedicated washing area or convenient access to a foul sewer point, we block surrounding drains to avoid contamination, wash the vehicles, and guide the wastewater to a specific point. We then pump the dirty water into portable carriers and remove them from the site for disposal at a location with a disposal licence.”

PVC Vendo holds a waste carriers licence in compliance with environmental regulations.

“During the pandemic we introduced Saniclean, a cleaning system to disinfect the interior of vehicle cabs, killing the Covid-19 virus, and ensuring that the next driver has a safe and hygienic environment,” added the company.

“Due to its popularity, we have continued offering the Saniclean service.”

Its staff can quickly notify clients via ProWash, a custom-built software system accessed through a smart device, once their vehicles have been washed and disinfected. This results in fast vehicle turnaround times and streamlined communication with clients, says PVC Vendo.
