Keeping tabs on AdBlue with CTS
Centre Tank Services Ltd (CTS), the UK agent for the B.Smart fluid management system from Italian manufacturer Piusi, has described how the technology can help manage, monitor and secure AdBlue stocks.
Fleet managers will likely already know how fuel management systems can save money and hassle when it comes to diesel, says CTS, adding that benefits can also be reaped through taking the same approach to AdBlue.
“The Russia-Ukraine war has affected multiple supply chains across the whole of Europe since the war began, and the natural gases used in the production of AdBlue has been no exception,” said the company.
“With the steep fall in gas shipments from Russia, the production of AdBlue will not only suffer but the price of AdBlue will continue to rise.
“And whilst we still reel from the economic effects of Covid, inflation was at an all-time high in October 2022, thrusting us into a difficult and lengthy cost-of-living crisis driven by the soaring costs of food and energy.
“With all of this in mind, it is more important than ever to treat your AdBlue like you would your diesel fuel to avoid financial losses and keep your fleet in action with the Piusi B.Smart – a smart, cloud-based fuel management system for AdBlue as well as fuel.”
Piusi B.Smart enables AdBlue and fuel use to be monitored remotely, and in real time where a Wi-Fi or mobile network is available – whether from a single pump on a single site or multiple dispensers across unlimited geographical sites.
“It’s perfect for any size fleet, no matter how big or small, and allows you to view and compare refuelling data from all of your sites in a single online portal,” said CTS.
“Dispensing is enabled by the app on your drivers’ mobile phone with the data sent straight to the cloud using their mobile network, giving you all of the latest data and reports via the online portal on your PC, tablet, or smartphone.
“You can also remotely allow driver access to the pump, giving you complete control over who can dispense AdBlue or fuel, whilst preventing unauthorised users from filling up their vehicle. By having these controls on the online portal and accessible from wherever you are, you’ll save time, hassle, and the cost of having to go to each site to manually gather the information.”
There are no annual hosting fees for storing the data on a server or using the portal, adds the company.
“This is thanks to Piusi making the conscious decision to absorb these costs for you, so that all you have to do is simply buy the system and your driver app licences and it’s yours.”
There are also two add-on modules for the Piusi B.Smart fluid management system. The first is the Tank Watchdog for remotely monitoring fuel stock and levels of any tank with a Piusi B.Smart system –enabling real-time fluid level monitoring, identifying the value of fuel inventory and managing fuel suppliers by recording delivery date, price, invoice number, and litres received.
The second add-on is the Fuel Economy module for remotely monitoring fuel consumption, miles per gallon, and managing driver and vehicle activity.
“This module will extend your system’s power, giving you full control over your site and increasing the profitability of your fleet,” said CTS.
