Totalkare pit lane for Les Searle Group
Les Searle Group has taken a significant step to boost its in-house repair and maintenance operations by partnering with workshop equipment experts Totalkare to install items that will optimise the maintenance of its extensive fleet of excavators, dumper trucks, tractor trailers with low loaders, and bulldozers.
The recent upgrade includes the installation of a robust 10-metre inspection pit manufactured from high-quality pre-fabricated steel in the Midlands. This inspection pit features a side access tunnel, ensuring easy and safe entry and exit for maintenance personnel. Additionally, it is equipped with a pit jack, an oil drainer, and safety rails, which collectively enhance the efficiency and safety of maintenance procedures.
Complementing this installation, Totalkare has integrated an in-ground brake tester, shaker plates and headlamp tester into Les Searle Group’s workshop.
Totalkare’s TK70 brake tester is DVSA-approved and designed to provide accurate and reliable brake performance analysis. With its in-ground installation, the TK70 is said to ensure seamless integration into the workshop environment, offering precise measurement of braking forces and efficiency. This enables Les Searle Group to quickly identify and address brake issues, ensuring the safety and compliance of their fleet.
The shaker plates are crucial for detecting suspension and steering system issues that might not be apparent during routine visual inspections, adds the workshop equipment provider. By simulating real-world driving conditions, the in-ground shaker plates help diagnose and rectify potential problems before they affect vehicle performance. This proactive approach minimises unexpected breakdowns and extends the lifespan of critical vehicle components.
A common reason for vehicle failure at annual test, proper headlamp performance and alignment is essential for road safety, particularly for large and heavy-duty vehicles. Totalkare’s 2500 headlamp tester is said to provide precise adjustment and calibration of headlamps, ensuring optimal visibility and compliance with legal standards. This capability is vital for the safety of both Les Searle Group’s drivers and other road users.
Les Searle, managing director of Les Searle Group, praised the newly installed equipment: “We are delighted with the installation from Totalkare.
