CV Show: Cobra to demonstrate mobile CCTV monitoring system

By Categories: Commercial NewsPublished On: Thursday 4 April 2013

cobravanTelematics, safety and security supplier Cobra UK will be demonstrating its Global Live mobile CCTV monitoring security system at this year’s CV Show.

The system, which features live image streaming, allows operators to watch their vehicles 24/7 whether out on the road or parked. Should an event occur, the system is designed to enable businesses to react immediately and intervene in real time.

Global Live has been designed for HGV and van operators to combat load interception and theft, which Cobra says is costing the UK economy £250m in losses each year.

The system can also offer bus and coach operators extra security for VIPs in transit, and protect assets from vandalism on late night bus routes.

Operators can choose to self-monitor the CCTV footage or upgrade to Global Live’s monitoring services, through which trained personnel at the Cobra Secure Operating Centre (SOC) can view and download live images and data of a vehicle en route or when parked.

The SOC is highly trained in handling duress situations, Cobra says – so should an incident occur, it can immediately manage the situation with the appropriate emergency services.

The SOC is also able to remotely lock or unlock the cab or trailer doors and can prevent a vehicle’s ignition from being restarted once the vehicle has come to a standstill.

A free Global Live White Paper on freight crime prevention is being distributed at the show, alongside a number of case studies highlighting its operator benefits.
