premierpits_coverWorkshop equipment supplier Premier Pits has added a new sliding pit safety cover to its product portfolio.

The ASP System is said to be a fast and secure means of totally or partially closing a pit, thereby increasing floor area in the workshop and reducing the risk of accidents.

Supplied in single or tandem configurations, the system is adaptable to existing pits, and can be installed within hours, says Premier, without the need for building works and therefore any additional cost.

With manual or automatic (pneumatically operated) options available, the system does not use electricity, which makes it particularly safe in the presence of vehicles powered by natural gas, methane or gasoline, says the company.

The cover is constructed from anodised extruded aluminipremierpits_cover2um, said to ensure quality and durability; features non-slip slats; and offers a certified capacity load of 1,500kg/m².

Further features include a storage area at the top of the pit, equipped with guides for cover storage; a button control panel which allows the operator to open or close the pit in a few seconds; and a system stop push button.

Available accessories include a mountable footbridge and a truck entrance guide.
