Diagnostics and training expertise from VTS

Vehicle Technology Solutions (VTS) has distributed a variety of diagnostic equipment for the commercial vehicle sector since it opened for business in February 2007.

“Back in 2007 the world of diagnostics was going through many changes, mainly driven by emissions,” explained the company.

“With the introduction of AdBlue systems, suddenly the independent workshops were faced with resolving many new issues.”

Initially VTS supplied the Texa multi-brand diagnostic solution, and 14 years later, the firm reports that it has seen steady growth.

“With offices in both Watford and Manchester we now have a customer base of several hundred (covering the world),” said the company.

“Our product range has developed dramatically to include air conditioning and emissions equipment from Texa and Premier Diagnostics, battery support from GYS and NoCo, workshop hydraulics from Rehobot and recently the addition of Pico for automotive oscilloscopes.

“During this period of growth, customer service and support have always been at the forefront of the business. We have supported and had support in return from all of the brands we represent.

“In addition, we have developed our own training programmes, becoming an IMI-accredited centre in 2017, offering a range of course and accreditations, including IRTEC HGV/PSV/trailer inspection.”

The VTS team has over fifty years of combined automotive experience, with customers ranging from one-man mobile technicians to large national operators with multiple workshops.

With systems in commercial vehicles growing in complexity, VTS says that the role of the technician is increasingly reliant on an understanding of their operation, with a good fundamental knowledge “an absolute must”.

The company is currently releasing three fundamental electrical and electronic training courses, including an introduction to EV/hybrid technology.

“These courses will help the candidates to understand the technology fitted on the vehicles they work with at a base level, and by using the test equipment available, become familiar with diagnosing where the issue may be,” said the firm.

“We are also working to deliver the IRTEC large electric vehicle high voltage isolation, reinstatement and safety course.”
