Expanding workshop horizons with Texa diagnostics

Diagnostics specialist Texa offers a variety of solutions for the truck sector, and says its Nemo 2 and Multihub provide a comprehensive single-platform means by which workshops can manage all of their vehicles.

The Axone Nemo 2 diagnostic tool covers an extensive range of makes, and is also used for precise operations on trucks, off-highway, cars, bikes and marine vehicles.

Features of the Nemo 2 include a 12-inch capacitive touch screen, 2160×1440 resolution, Gorilla Glass protection, Windows 10 operating system, Intel Pentium Quad Core N5000 ‘Gemini Lake’ Processor, 5mpx front and rear camera, 8gb RAM and 250GB storage.

Texa’s IDC5 software offers a series of functions and additional content that exceeds the traditional concept of diagnosis, further extending the potential of the Axone Nemo 2.

These include the TGS3s Global System Scan: an automatic scan of all the control units installed in a vehicle that can be diagnosed, rapidly accessing the diagnostics and identifying the control units automatically. On completion of the scan, TGS3s immediately displays any errors, along with the relevant codes and descriptions, and allows the user to read and clear them with a single click. Users can also launch a self-diagnostic test on the selected system directly from the error detection screen.

Meanwhile, the Rec&Play diagnostic session recording function allows the parameters and errors that occur during a test drive to be recorded. The data can be easily read and analysed at a later time and printed as a report of the test carried out.

The Freeze Frame feature displays a series of parameters and data indicating the vehicle usage conditions at the moment a failure occurred. The actual information displayed by Freeze Frame may vary between vehicle manufacturers and system types.

The Dashboard is a graphical representation of the vehicle’s engineering parameters, with an intuitive interface that reproduces an industrial vehicle’s dashboard, the mechanical components and operating logic of the system.

The Windows operating system of Axone Nemo 2 also allows users to perform Pass-Thru operations (using the vehicle interface), by installing the software provided by the vehicle manufacturer directly on the tool.

The contents of the Help section provide useful information on the meaning of the error messages and, if necessary, on a first series of checks to carry out. Meanwhile, technical sheets provide accurate information on the selected vehicle, including instructions for performing a manual service reset and overviews of specific mechatronic systems.

Vehicle technical data can be accessed for areas such as wheel alignment, tyre pressure, timing belt, mechanical data, scheduled maintenance and component locations.

The system also offers an instant link between the error read from the control unit and the corresponding component on the wiring diagram. From the wiring diagram, users can access the test functions and device descriptions. Interactive wiring diagrams are said to be useful for enhanced troubleshooting, through interaction with the various components shown in them. Users can select specific components to identify their cables and their electrical and logical connections to other components on the wiring diagram.

Further information can be obtained and no-obligation demonstrations arranged by contacting Texa.
