Young’s improves efficiency with Fargo TOPS software
Young’s Container Transport (YCT) has recently implemented the TOPS (Transport Operations & Processing Systems) software from Fargo Systems at its depots in Tilbury and Southampton.
The transport and storage solutions provider, which runs 170 vehicles, has reportedly made a number of efficiency savings since employing TOPS as its transport management software solution.
The TOPS system has been providing bespoke and off-the-shelf software solutions to the haulage industry since its release in 2012. Features available within the system include route planning and mapping plug-ins, job diaries, trailer manifests and trip lists, an automatic volumetric weight calculator, and shipment groupage and prioritisation.
Management benefits include quotations and sales analysis, financial software integration, route and consolidation analysis, and vehicle and driver costings.
Brian Walker, managing director at YCT, said: “My first objective after being appointed MD of Young’s Container Transport was to review our operating system. It became very clear that we needed to introduce a new up to date and robust system that would make us even more efficient, whilst adding value to our customers.
“I fully investigated other options; however, none could offer the major operational efficiency gains that I knew TOPS could deliver.”
