CV Show 2023 – Camos-UK: cyclist detection
The Commercial Vehicle Show takes place from 18-20 April at the NEC Birmingham.
Vehicle safety systems supplier Camos-UK will be at the CV Show this year to promote its cyclist and vulnerable road user (VRU) detection system, Cycle-Safe.
The DVS Safety Permit and FORS-compliant system uses next-generation optical technology, combining both detection and vision in a single ‘smart camera’.
“Unlike ultrasonic/side-scan systems, Cycle-Safe avoids driver distractions by ignoring street furniture,” said the company.
“Cycle-Safe differentiates between moving (VRUs) and static objects, reducing driver workload and false alarms. Cycle-Safe can be integrated into existing camera systems (including additional ‘smart cameras’), sensors, alarms and DVRs.
“Additionally, Cycle-Safe should also be compliant with the new ‘DVS2’ requirements, and a front version is available to meet MOIS/DVS2 requirements (new radar/AI system for BSIS).”
