Hofmann Megaplan’s Cascos van lift

Hofmann Megaplan’s lifting range includes the Cascos C5.5 ‘Super Duty’, 5.5 tonne-capacity two-post lift, designed specifically for long wheel base (LWB) vans.

“All too often people make the mistake of buying a lift that is not suitable for large vans, simply because they are focused on lifting capacity when there are other important factors to consider,” said the company.

“Every vehicle lift has to state the maximum load it is capable of lifting but in many cases, that maximum load is only achievable with the arms in certain positions. Cascos lifts are designed to lift the maximum load at any angle of the load or length/extension of the arms.

“The Cascos C5.5 can cope comfortably with LWB vans, and vehicles can be mounted from either direction. Additionally, Cascos arms have safety systems that provide for super-flexible positioning of the arms under the vehicle.”

The company added: “Cascos lifts feature columns made from rolled, solid steel profiles as opposed to folded steel sheets as used on the majority of lifts. This ‘SlenderTec’ technology provides up to 60 per cent more strength, while allowing the use of slimmer columns. In turn, this maximises the width between the columns whilst minimising the overall footprint of the lift.

“It is a more expensive method of production, but far more practical and, in plain engineering terms, far more logical than the cheaper option of folded steel sheet…

“Thanks to the smaller profile of the SlenderTec posts, Cascos lifts provide the largest working distance between posts (2.81m in the case of the C5.5) while occupying as little space as possible in your garage. This extra space provides a better working environment, with optimum door opening for getting into and out of the vehicle.”

A baseless version, known as the Syncro model, is also available, which uses a unique Cascos PLC system.

“This system is far more reliable than cable or PCB synchronisation methods, and allows the C5.5 lift to be used either with an adjustable overhead gantry or under the floor for complete freedom from floor or overhead obstructions.”
